The One Thing You Should Never Buy From Ikea, According To Reviews

Anyone who walks through the doors of an Ikea store is bound to leave with something (even if it’s just a supply of Swedish meatballs). I mean, who can resist modern furniture that doesn’t empty our your bank account? If you’re looking to decorate your post-grad apartment or first home on a budget, then Ikea is your spot. However, not all of their items are created equally.

Our friends at  My Domaine did some investigating and found that Ikea mattresses have pretty disappointing reviews. While you can pay just $80 for a mattress from the Swedish retailer, the money savings is not worth the quality sacrifice. According to 224 consumer experiences gathered from 68 sources, Ikea’s foam, latex, and spring options have low owner satisfaction grades ranging from B- to D. The mattresses were too firm for some, especially side sleepers, and have questionable durability and longevity for everyday, long-term use. Well, that’s not ideal if you’re trying to get a good night’s sleep (aka, all of us).

So you’re good with small space storage options and basically everything else from Ikea, just not mattresses. Noted!
