The One Thing You Should Never Do When Drinking Wine
March 8, 2016
Weekday wine can be one of the very best things. Praise Wine Wednesday! In fact, weekday wine sometimes feels like a necessity. At the end of a long day (and longer week), a glass of Merlot is just what the doctor ordered (in this case, I’m the doctor, and I say drink up). Sometimes, though, this desire for a hump day treat clouds your better judgement. I’ve turned into Winezilla more than once, greeting my loved ones with, “WHERE’S THE WINE?!?” Cabernet dripping from my trembling bottom lip.
It happens to the best of us.
Desperation is a dangerous thing, but you shouldn’t let it take over. Meaning, if the only wine in your house is a bottle that has been opened and sitting out for four days or more (with or without a cork), DON’T DRINK IT. True, bad wine isn’t going to kill you, but it can be pretty gross! Avoid the temptation. You deserve better than old, off-tasting wine.
Remember, no matter how terrible the day, old wine is not the answer.
