About three years ago I started getting my eyebrows threaded. Before then, I used to pluck them and I still do in between getting them threaded since I only go every other month or so. There are a bunch of mistakes you can make when plucking your eyebrows, like over-plucking, for instance. However, there’s one mistake you probably didn’t even know you were making. I’ll admit I make this mistake every time I pluck my eyebrows! Do I get kudos for being honest?! This is the one thing you should never do when plucking your eyebrows.
Never look in a magnifying mirror. Say what?! Isn’t that how you see all the hairs that need to come out? Well, brow guru Kristie Streicher says, “If you can’t see the hair in a regular mirror, then neither can anyone else.” Hmm, I never really thought about it like that. Good point.
Also, if you stand too close to a magnifying mirror, you lose perspective on how your brow shape looks when you aren’t standing that close. Brow expert Ramy Gafni told StyleCaster, “You need to step back at least two feet and look at yourself the way the world sees you. Look at your whole face, look at yourself objectively, and then move in closer and the hairs that need to be removed will present themselves.”
There you have it, ladies! Step away from the magnifying mirror when plucking your eyebrows.
