The One Thing You Should Never Do When Putting In Contacts
March 9, 2016
While contact lenses are one of the best inventions ever, they can cause a lot of health hazards if you don’t take the necessary precautions. Of course, there are the obvious hygiene procedures to follow when putting in contact lenses, like not reusing solution, sleeping with contacts, etc. However, there’s probably one thing that might not be so obvious when it comes to putting in contacts.
You should never put in contact lenses after applying makeup. When you put in your contacts after applying makeup you are increasing the chances of getting makeup on your lenses. This rule also applies to facial products. It’s really important to put your contacts in before applying any moisturizers or makeup. This way, your hands are clean and there’s no risk of getting product stuck on your lenses.
It’s also worth noting you should steer clear of waterproof makeup. If the waterproof makeup happens to get on your lenses, it will adhere to it. This poses a problem because water will not remove waterproof makeup, therefore, you’ll have to use a solution that can grease up your lenses.
Remember: always put in your contacts before applying any facial products and makeup! And, as always, make sure your hands are clean.
