The Sunday Scaries – we’ve all got them. That feeling you get when you realize the weekend somehow flew by, and it’s suddenly 10 PM on Sunday night, and you have work or school the next day, and you’ve done nothing productive in the past 24 hours… help.
You’ve gone through the weekend – Friday happy hour, Saturday brunch with the girls, the big Saturday night out – and now you’re in bed, (over)thinking about the events of the weekend and dreading the week to come. The ever-looming presence that is Monday is tough to swallow.
There’s no easy fix for the Sunday Scaries, but we can tell you one thing that might help… DO NOT go on social media. You might be thinking “oh, let me go on Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook, Vine, MySpace, Friendster (you get the gist) to see what my friends did this past weekend!” Bad idea, girlfriend. Seeing everyone you know at their seemingly-fun-but-we-know-in-reality-they-aren’t-that-fun weekend events will only give you more feelings associated with the Sunday Scaries – episodes of FOMO and regret are common.
Our suggestion would be to grab late-night ice cream friends, watch a movie, catch up on your latest TV binge! We promise your Sunday night will be a lot more pleasant if you focus on things you enjoy rather than rehashing the ghosts of the weekend.
