How many time have our dentists told us all the things we should be doing when brushing our teeth? A lot, right? Well, that’s why we thought it would be a good idea to investigate the one thing you absolutely should NOT do when brushing your teeth. Turns out, it’s not brushing too hard
When you’re done brushing your teeth, the last thing you should do is… rinse/use mouthwash. If you’re like me, you’ve been doing this all along so this news is a bit alarming. Maybe you’re even a little unconvinced, but hear us out because there’s a logical explanation behind this tip.
If you douse your teeth with mouthwash directly after brushing your teeth, you’re actually washing away and removing of all the toothpaste ingredients that are beneficial to your pearly whites. Instead, it is advised to use mouthwash an hour or so after you brush your teeth. While this may seem more time consuming, you’re applying fluoride to your teeth four times a day instead of two. And, who doesn’t want a whiter (and healthier) looking smile?!
