The Real Star Of The #Emmys Red Carpet? Edie Parker Clutches

Edie Parker clutches were the talk of the 2013 Emmys last night. The vintage-style handbag made an appearance on the red carpet a record four times, held by Zooey Deschanel, Kerry Washington, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Christina Hendricks.
One such clutch, carried by Julia Louis-Dreyfus, made its television debut during her acceptance speech. Julia’s onscreen assistant on the comedy “Veep,” Tony Hale, channeled his character and held her clutch in real life as she accepted her award. Yes, an Edie Parker clutch actually became a part of the Awards ceremony yesterday. How cool is that?!
Edie Parker clutches are no stranger to Awards Season, though. Launched in 2010, they’re the brainchild of Brett Heyman, who worked at Gucci and Elle before creating her own handbag line. Inspired by Showgirls and Socialites of the 1950s, the clutches each have a retro vibe juxtaposed with futuristic shapes and artful details. Their best asset? They’re roomy enough to hold all the essentials while still looking fashion-forward.
