Guess what, ladies?! You’ve been folding your t-shirts all wrong. Okay, I know that you’re probably wondering “how could I be folding it the wrong way?” Admittedly, most of us just do our own thing. But if you want your shirt collection to have that perfect off-the-shelves look that you’d see at your favorite clothing store, then it’s time to step up your folding game ASAP. Luckily, we’re here to help you out. Here’s the right way to fold a t-shirt in a few easy steps.
1.Find a flat surface to fold on. You will need to begin by laying the t-shirt on a steady surface like your kitchen table. Make sure that you smooth it out before you begin so that you have as few wrinkles as possible before folding.
2.Pinch the middle on one side of the shirt with your left hand. I start off by folding on the right, but do what works for you. Basically, look at the shirt and determine the middle. Then, pinch one side (a few inches away from the end) with your left hand, making sure that you get both the front and back of the shirt with your thumb and index fingers.
3.Then pinch the top of the shirt with your right hand. After you’ve pinched the middle of the shirt, pinch the top or shoulder of the t-shirt with your right hand directly above your left hand.
4.Fold your right hand over your left to pinch the bottom of the shirt. Next, take your right hand and bring it across your left–still holding your pinch–and pinch the bottom of the shirt. Again, make sure that you have the front and the back pinched.
5.Uncross your hands and fold over. Now your arms should be crossed. At this stage, all you have to do is uncross your arms. You should have your rectangle fold. To clean it up just fold over and excess fabric under. And there you have it–a perfectly folded t-shirt!
