The Secret To Wearing Flats Without Any Pain

People seriously underestimate just how painful a pair of flats can be. Heels are the known threat, but flats are arguably even worse because you never expect them to hurt you! It feels like a grand betrayal — how could you do this to me, you were so cute… And, oh, how they hurt… I’ve forsaken many a pair of beautiful flats because they simply weren’t wearable. It’s tough to say goodbye, but *sigh* sometimes it has to be said.

However, there are ways to reduce the pain (one of these is just shopping exclusively at Aerosoles, SERIOUSLY so comfortable). In addition to just wearing sneakers and changing into your flats when you’re at your destination (I mean, duh), you can also assuage the pain by choosing the right pair of flats for your lifestyle.

Flats with additional features (straps, buckles, etc..) typically offer more support than those without. Excuse to buy some Ghillie flats? Yes, please!

Another big issue is over-wearing the same pair and style of shoes. Your feet get bored, spice things up (and eliminate pain!) by alternating between flats and different heel heights.

If your flats are still in the break-in period, remember to wear them for half a day at most!

Ta-da, your flats just got A LOT more comfortable!
