I could look at Instagrams of In-N-Out burgers and fries (Animal Style, duh) all day. It might be the one reason I would consider moving to the West Coast. But besides making drool-worthy food, the fast food chain also prides itself on using fresh and quality ingredients: “We don’t freeze. We don’t pre-package. We don’t over-process. We just make things the old-fashioned way.”
However, if you’re lucky enough to live in one of the five states with In-N-Out locations, then you should know there’s one item on the menu you should absolutely avoid eating: The Double-Double with onion. I know, I know, what’s the point of even going then? Well, according to Fit Day, a Double-Double with onion contains 670 calories, 370 of which are from fat and 41 grams of fat! Now you tell me if that one meal is worth it??

If you must order a Double-Double, there are some modifications you can make so that it’s just a little less artery-clogging. Ask for “Protein Style,” which replaces the bun with lettuce, and you’ll save 150 calories and 30 grams of carbs. Also, instead of getting the spread, put on ketchup and mustard yourself to cut 80 calories and nine grams of fat.
