The World’s First (And Hopefully Last) Convertible Travel Outfit

February 8, 2013 by Katelyn Holland

Finding a comfortable yet stylish travel outfit is a long-standing fashion impasse. People either think they‘re walking a runway (6-inch heels–really?) or dress like a college student running late for class. No one wants to wear parka to the airport and then have to bring it to a tropical island. TravelSupermarket, a UK travel website, thinks they have  the perfect solution for jetting between different climates. The “Winter-Sun Travel Outfit” allows the wearer to unzip parts of a hooded jacket to create a strapless dress or mini-skirt. But where do you put detached sleeves? Turn them into a shoulder bag or a shrug (duh). The convertible outfit was designed with comfort, functionality, and style in mind but we aren’t so sure about the style part. The concept is cool but it looks like a Snuggie with zippers. We rather switch outfits in a tiny airplane bathroom than be caught trying to convert this oversized hoodie into a tube top and orange mini skirt.

The product is a prototype that will go on sale if there is enough interest (and we are afraid people might actually want it). What do you think of the “Winter-Sun Travel Outfit”?
