Believe It Or Not, These Manicure Images Are Actually The Same

You all remember Dressgate, don’t you? I certainly hope so–it basically tore the world apart for several days (I’m Team #WhiteAndGold, for the record). Well, that controversy may be over, but it wouldn’t be the Internet if something else for us to fight about didn’t crop up. This time, it’s manicures: one is a deep, vampy red, and the other is a pale pink. The kicker? They’re actually the exact same picture. This time around, though, someone has saved us the energy of fighting over who’s right and who’s wrong. According to i100, an offshoot of The Independent, the colors of the nails change depending on the color of the background. A black background will show dark nails, and a light background light ones. It’s a photoshop trick! Sorry if I ruined the magic for you–just thought I’d spare you another friendship-ruining argument. Check out the photos below:
