Think Pink: Payless takes steps in the fight against breast cancer.
October 10, 2005
For the second year, uber-shoe retailer Payless is running their Taking Steps Brooch Program during the month of October in support of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. 100% of the profits from the Taking Steps charm are donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Payless hopes to top 2004’s donation of $500,000. This year’s design features the classic pink awareness ribbon with a dangling slingback studded with pink gems. It’s definitely worth the $2.00 purchase price. Breast cancer is a disease that is diagnosed once every three minutes, about the time it takes to try on a pair of shoes. And about three minutes is all it will take to purchase a brooch online at payless.com.
