Tibi‘s Fall 2013 show last Saturday left us scratching our heads: Wait…are those dickies the models are sporting? Indeed. According to Style.com, Tibi wanted their fall collection to take the customer from August to February – and evidently dickies were an integral part of this.
Yep, dickies. Those detachable collars our grandmothers wore in the 1940s when materials were being rationed for WWII. Trust us, we were just as surprised as you are right now. We realize that this is a post-recession economy and money is tight, but if we’re aiming for a utilitarian wardrobe, isn’t a full-on sweater more useful than a turtleneck bib?
Then again, detachable collar jewelry was pretty popular last season, so perhaps detachable collars are just a natural progression of that trend. Either way, we’re not sure if this is a look we can get on board with. What say you, dear friends? Weigh in below.
