Trapeze Tops: The Coolest Circus-Related Thing Since Britney's Last Album

From left: Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Whitney Port, and Gwen Stefani in their favorite trapeze tops

Like batwing tops and reverse mullet tees, the trapeze top (which is shorter in the front and longer at the hips, mimicking a trapeze) is slouchy, loose, and flattering on virtually every body type. These tops are perfect when worn for an event as a tunic (à la Vanessa HudgensAlice + Olivia tank), or for a day of shopping—to give that “I swear I just threw this outfit on at the last second (ok fine, my stylist has been planning it for weeks)” look, à la Whitney Port. Check out our favorite styles below–but if you just saw Water for Elephants and were hoping to find some actual circus-like clothing, check out  Reese Witherspoon’s scarf from the movie–it’s still available.
