Trend Alert: Let Me See Your Jelly Roll

What: Jelly Finish Nail Polish

Why: No need to pull out your jellies to try this new nail polish trend. It’s a bright, saturated nail color that goes on sheer, but has a translucent depth similar to Jell-O. Unlike other sheers, jelly finish polishes won’t streak and actually look better with two or even three coats. Candy apple shades are hot, but colors fall all over the red spectrum from vampy burgundies to fresh corals.

Ready to try this trend for yourself? Blogdorf Goodman gives two suggestions; One: mix 25% opaque crème polish (not shimmers, glitters or frosts) with 75% clear coat; Two: try Essie’s Jelly Apple ($4.85 at Amazon.com) or Misa Cherry Topping ($3.99 at MetroBeauty.com) polishes. Check out Nailgail.com to see what shades look like applied.
