Black Friday was as nuts as ever, with people wreaking havoc over TVs and Barbie Dolls across the country and in the UK. A lot of the brawls took place at Walmart, but the retailer wasn’t the only culprit. Fighting also went down at Target, Kohl’s, and Tesco (basically the Target of the UK).
Some retailers opened their stores on Thanksgiving day—in other words, fights were in full swing by Thursday evening. CBS reported a fight that broke out at a Norwalk Walmart on Thursday night, where two women were arguing over a Barbie Doll. Allegedly one of the women threw a punch, so the cops were called in but nobody was arrested or seriously hurt.
Those women may have gotten away with no arrest, but not everyone that acted like a maniac got away with it. Three women were arrested at a Kohl’s in Tustin after being involved in a vicious fight that left two victims with gashes on their faces. Another arrest was made at an Indianapolis mall, where a man and his girlfriend started punching an off-duty cop after they were asked to leave for being too rowdy.
Much to our dismay, none of the incidents we just mentioned were caught on film, but we did find plenty other footage that illustrates this year’s Black Friday chaos, and my oh my is it good. Let us begin with a clip that shows what happened at a mall in Atlanta:
The bad behavior continued at Target, when someone tried to steal this woman’s TV:
The message you should take away from that is never to get between a shopper and her door-buster TV deal—it’s a major no no.
Meanwhile, back at Black Friday Mecca—aka Walmart—things got pretty heated. The following footage shows what happened inside a Walmart in Michigan City. Keep your eyes peeled for the couple in the Chicago Bears jerseys:
Vicious, but that’s not all. Here’s another example of people going insane over TVs at Walmart (pardon the fingertip):
But then this happened when a guy got caught being too aggressive:
Yep, that was a dude getting tasered in the chest. It happened at a Walmart.
Moving on to the UK—yes, they have Black Friday too, and after the footage we’ve seen, it’s way more intense then it is in The States. First, let’s take a look at a video that was taken at Tesco:
Brits, they’re just like us—except they seem to get a bit more excited over deals on Vacuums:
They also win for having the angriest Black Friday shopper this year:
Imagine being in the same room as that guy?
Bottom line, shopping stores on Black Friday is like entering a warzone—it’s intense and even dangerous (you saw the footage). So if you prefer to be safe and not have your head ripped off, consider the alternative—online shopping. After-all, nothing beats the comfort of your own home.
