Today, Adele released the first track off of her already super-anticipated album, 25. The song is titled “Hello” and not that we would expect anything less, but between the lyrics and the music video… this video is pretty powerful.
The music video was directed by Xavier Dolan, and it is the first ever music video to be shot in IMAX. In the countryside of Montreal, we find Adele going through the motions of a messy breakup—something we can all relate to. Within the first verse, Adele gives us lyrical brilliance and a reason to grab a box of tissues:
I’m in California dreaming about who we used to be
When we were younger and free
I’ve forgotten how it felt before the world fell at our feet
There’s such a difference between us
And a million miles
So if there’s one thing you do today, it’s watching this music video. We haven’t heard from Adele since she last released “Skyfall” back in 2012. But we must say…this was well worth the wait.
