We Never Thought About Matching Our Nails To A Car Until OPI & Ford Teamed Up

In honor of the 5oth anniversary of the debut of the Ford Mustang, Ford and OPI have teamed up for a polish collab featuring six different auto-inspired shades including: Race Red (the “hero” color of the collection), 50 Years of Style, Queen of the Road, Girls Love Ponies, Angel with a Leadfoot and The Sky’s My Limit.

The collection was developed by OPI Co-Founder and EVP, Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, who believes, “Nail color, just like the car she drives, is the ultimate expression of a woman’s personality. Automobiles are synonymous with style, and there is a special kind of love affair between a woman and her car.” Which is definitely true. If I drove a bright red mustang and had red nails to match, I would feel pretty cool.

“Color is very personal to people and to how they express themselves,” said Susan Lampinen, Group Chief Designer, Color and Material, Ford Motor Company. “Similarly, color plays a key role in defining the character of a vehicle: Mustang paint colors need to denote performance, sportiness, and power. They are expressive, bold and eye-catching colors, like the ones chosen for this limited edition collection.”

Each of the new Mustang shades will feature OPI’s exclusive ProWide Brush, which is great for smooth and even polish application. The collection will be available in July at professional salons, including Ulta for $9.50.
