Remember your first experience with makeup? Maybe it was playing with your mom’s collection of various products like eyeliner and eyeshadow. Well, I wasn’t like that. In fact, I was a huge tomboy when I was young; to this day I still don’t have my ears pierced.

But, my twin and older sister were the biggest girly-girls, so my first major memory of any beauty product was nail polish. I always attempted to paint my nails, but my sisters would usually end up fixing them for me. My family always joked that my twin would be a nail artist when she grew up, so it was no surprise she was the one who introduced me to DIY nail art. But the coolest DIY trick she taught me was this awesome marble pattern, which is easier than going out to a salon and having them do it for you. (Chances are, they won’t be able to figure it out.)

So grab a nail polish that will compliment your tan, and check out this slide show to see how to get this cool pattern on your nails.
