You would have to be underground right now not to have heard the furor over Sarah Palin’s shopping sprees. Politico reports that the RNC has spent more than $150,000 in clothes and accessories for Sarah Palin and her family since they joined the campaign in late August. The spree began in early September with bills totaling $49,425.74 from Saks and $75,062.63 from Neiman Marcus. They've also spent $4,716.49 on hair and makeup. Is your mouth hanging open? Yeah, that’s kinda how we felt about it.
In an economic downturn, you need to get more bang for your buck, but you certainly don’t have to sacrifice quality. Let’s take her notorious black skirt suit. The two above are almost carbon copies of what she's been seen in on the campaign trail. One of them costs $2300 (the amount we assume she'd spend on the ensemble), while the other, from Neiman's coincidentally, rings in at $500.
