We're Here To Help You Get Over Your Hatred Of White Coats
November 21, 2013
It’s about time you get over being hung up on winter white. It isn’t outdated. It isn’t against some fashion rule or mantra (and if you think it is, that thought is definitely outdated). It isn’t going to kill you to give it a try.
In fact, with cuts and silhouettes mimicking your favorite navy and black coats–think peacoats, modern zipper detail, quilted patterns–winter white coats this season aren’t just a one-off trend only the fashion bloggers can pull off. Paired with jeans or leggings, a winter white coat a la Helmut Lang is futuristic. Or with a classic peacoat cut, the white adds a color blocking effect that can seriously be just as slimming as any of your darker colored options.
In truth, winter white coats have gotten a bad rap in the past. As of now, though, there is something seriously modern about tossing off old notions of colder weather means a darker wardrobe and trying out neutrals not of the camel colored variety. White is pretty much your only option, and it’s a dang good one, too.
