Have you heard of switchel? It’s a drink that many colonial farmers drank back in the day to quench their thirst. Just think of it as a modern-day version of an energy/sports drink. Switchel is also referred to as “Haymaker’s Punch” and ginger-water. People are loving it because it’s an all-natural hydration and energy boost.
Switchel is a combination of apple cider vinegar, ginger and a sweetener, which is mainly maple syrup. In addition to those ingredients, you cut the whole batch with water so it’s less, um, pungent.
You’ll not only get a serious energy boost but also boost your immunity, ease inflammation, balance your body’s pH level and more. It’s super easy to make, too. Check out a recipe straight from the Farmer’s Almanac and try switchel for yourself!
