As you may already know, I recently visited Dubai and completely fell in love with the city. Dubai is unlike so many other vacation destinations because it really does have everything. There’s the city, the desert and even a beach. Add to that the fact that you also need to be mindful of the local culture and packing for a trip to this incredible place can be a bit challenging.
Luckily, I’m here to make your life a little bit easier. Based on my trip, I came up with the ultimate packing guide so you can navigate cities in the Middle East with peace of mind.
Suitcase. First things first, you need a quality piece of luggage to keep all of your essentials together. If you’re going on a trip to around the world, you should invest in Away. Not only is their luggage extremely durable, but they also have an ejectable battery so you can stay charged during your long flight.
Scarf. Even though cities like Dubai are liberal, women should still have something on hand in case you visit a mosque. Scarves also come in handy when in the desert to protect you from sand. This lightweight scarf is big enough in case you have to cover your shoulders as well.
Sunscreen. Even if you aren’t spending your time at the beach, the sun is still very strong in this city and the last thing you want to do is burn on your trip. No matter where you’re headed, always apply sunscreen to your face!
GoPro. Whether you’re in a hot air balloon or discovering the world’s largest aquarium, this durable camera will get all your shots and is much more convenient than a professional camera.
Comfortable shoes. It’s always a good idea to bring a pair of casual sneakers for the days you plan on exploring a lot… or even taking a stroll in the Dubai Mall.
Backpack. Since Dubai offers an array of activities, you’ll want a bag that can be used for them all. Plus, you’ll have your hands free to take videos and some room for souvenirs you pick up throughout the day.
