When Should You Stop Drinking Coffee Before Bed? The Answer Might Surprise You

The most difficult part of my day is the early-morning slog to the coffee maker, hands-down. Even then, at my lowest point, there’s still a sliver of hope — coffee is in the kitchen; help is on the way.

Sadly, even coffee has its limitations, and the groovy “Hello, sunshine!” effects of that first cup are fleeting at best. What do you do when your morning dose has run its course? Do you have another? When do you stop? When CAN you stop?? (LOL, hope y’all aren’t as addicted as I am!) But real talk, when’s the cut-off point for a night of caffeine-free slumber?

Well, it differs from person to person, but the general consensus is that you should cut the caffeine-drip 4-6 hours before you go to bed. To test your limits, try drinking half a cup of coffee six hours before bed and note when the effects wear off.
