Demi Moore Swears By Her Leeches: Who Knew Blood-Sucking Parasites Could Be Good For Your Skin?

Whoa. Just where will celebs draw the line when it comes to beauty? Apparently not at slimy bloodsuckers you used to stay away from during summer swims at Lake Hiawatha. We thought fish pedicures were creepy, but now according to Demi Moore, leeches are her new fave beauty treatment – claiming that they detoxify blood. Hmm. Well, Demi does look pretty amazing – all the time – and since she hasn't started to resemble Joan Rivers quite yet, we have to assume plastic surgery isn't solely responsible for the 45 year old's effortlessly, and eternally, youthful appearance. Maybe leeches are the way to go. Or maybe we could just use other less squirmy detox products like Gaiam Purifying Footpads?  They'll stick to you too, if that's what you're into, but won't draw blood or leave a slimy residue on your skin. Oh, and you also don't have to be under the direct supervision of a doctor when using them.

I personally wouldn't stick a leech anywhere near my body even if Ashton Kutcher were applying them himself – shirtless, and sweaty. Well maybe… no, definitely no.

What about you? Would you go for leech therapy as a viable detox option? Do you think Demi's on to something or have the leeches sucked too much blood out of her brain?
