Ralph Lauren recently apologized to the model Filippa Hamilton for the photoshop disaster shown above. The slender model’s image was distorted to the point that her head was wider than her waist, and her legs…well, we don’t even know what to compare those to. Pencils, chopsticks, and string beans all come to mind.
The apology and subsequent removal of the photograph follows the announcement from German magazine Brigitte that it will be banning models from its pages beginning in 2010. We hope these two events signal the end of a skinnier-than-thou era.
In the meantime, we’re glad Ralph Lauren stepped up and corrected its error. After all, we’re all for the brand’s contemporary take on classic looks, like this ruffled plaid top (shown here on a model who does not look like she is about to die).
