Why This Was The Year Of The #WeirdEmmys
September 23, 2013
Um, can we just take a minute to discuss how weird last night’s Emmys were? #WeirdEmmys wasn’t trending on Twitter for no reason. The show was full of bizarre surprises. Some good, but mostly all just plain strange and awkward. First there was Lena Dunham taking over Claire Danes‘s E! red carpet interview before the show even started, leaving Ryan Seacrest not knowing what to do with himself. But things got weirder from there, with Merrit Weaver‘s shortest acceptance speech ever, to a dubstep Breaking Bad dance number. And then the most random weird thing of the night: Carrie Underwood‘s Beatles tribute. Was she picked out of a hat to do this? It makes just as much sense as pretty much everyone who won an award last night, which means none at all. Click the slideshow to see why this was the weirdest Emmys ever.
