Yes, You Can Wear The Hologram Trend Without Looking Like Zenon
December 25, 2012
Don’t you remember those holographic Valentine’s Day cards you exchanged in elementary school? Mine were Hello Kitty! Well, the hologram trend has officially “come back,” thanks to designers like Burberry, Jonathan Saunders, Blumarine, Hussein Chalayan, and Hugo Boss (above, left to right) who featured the 3D trend in their 2013 shows.
And fashion isn’t the only industry to embrace this retro technology; a hologram of 2Pac performed with Snoop
Dogg Lion at the 2012 Coachella, and it seems like every movie is 3-D these days. We’re suckers for nostalgia, so Stella McCartney’s holographic iPhone case and Kate Spade’s psychedelic clutch are welcome in our wardrobes anytime.
And while translating the holographic look to your everyday wardrobe might seem intimidating, you really can pull it off without looking like a character from Zenon Girl of the 21st Century. Click through the slideshow above for incredibly wearable adaptations of the trends.
