Looks like Zac Posen is making a little something for everyone these days. The designer has just announced a new contemporary line, Zac Zac Posen, that will fall in price right between his mainline collection and Z Spoke, his (under $200) lower-priced diffusion line.

Why go mid-price? Posen told WWD:

In building into such strict price requirements for Z Spoke, we started to learn that with a slightly higher price point, you can get a lot more out of the product. You can get a level of fabric quality that’s a lot nicer, and it enables it to expand into evening.

And you can expect to see some formal-ready pieces in the line. In addition to Posen’s signature jersey dresses and skirts, Zac Zac Posen will include a selection of cocktail dresses for special occasions. Think more Zac Posen’s mainline – but at a little lower price-point. Plus, a little edgier: there will be a selection of moto jackets, bright coats, skinny pants and statement handbags. Zac Zac Posen will range between $500 and $1,600 and will retail at Neiman Marcus, Saks and Intermix. No word yet on the exact launch date, but we will keep you updated.
