Okay, so we all know Zayn Malik left One Direction because he wanted to be a “normal 22-year-old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight.” Fast forward to today when Zayn tweeted the real reason for his boy band departure to his 15.1 million fans. I have a feeling 1D fans will not be happy with what he said. Check it out below.

Zayn also just signed a record deal with RCA Records and followed up on Twitter saying “#REALME” after posting a picture of him signing the contract. As a side note, Miley Cyrus, Pitbull, Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake (just to name a few) are all signed with RCA. That’s a pretty elite group to be a part of.

While this is exciting news for Zayn, he completely dissed his former bandmates while announcing the news of his new record deal. It seems his idea of real music isn’t One Direction songs…even though they made his career. While I’m nervous to see the reactions to his comments from 1D fans, Zayn seems to already have his own group of followers who support his decision.

I guess he didn’t want to be out of the spotlight and a normal 22-year-old after all? Let the Twitter war begin!
