This Motion Sickness Cure Works In Less Than A Minute

Women Are Swapping Their Boring Water For This Ice Pop Electrolyte Mix!

I’ve been a victim of motion sickness since I was a little kid. My parents always told me I’d grow out of it, but here I am, 22 and nauseous at the thought of a 20-minute car ride. But it’s okay (mostly), because I’ve learned how to deal with it. Throughout the years, I’ve tried basically everything: pressure point wristbands, Dramamine, herbal remedies, benzos to distract me from fear of car sickness, easy access barf bag, etc… It got to the point that the anxiety that developed out of the possibility of feeling sick was so much worse than actually being sick. And to be clear, I haven’t actually been physically ill as result of a bumpy car ride since I was 4-years-old.

Through crazy, relentless anxiety, I found just the thing to quell both my fear and my dreaded nausea: ginger. I’m not talking the slimy pink stuff on the side of your sushi order, but rather the crystallized ‘candy’ (this term may be misleading) that you can purchase in bulk at most health food stores and chains like Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s. I keep a small bag of this miracle cure in my purse at all times. Not only is ginger amazing when nausea kicks up on the road, but it’s a generally awesome answer to any sort of stomach trouble.

A tiny bag costs me about $3.00 and lasts 4-5 months. I take mini bites (think smallest possible, the flavor can be pretty intense) from a single chunk of ginger whenever I start to feel a little unsettled, and it always helps me — ALWAYS.

Another great use for my ginger stash is when I’m drinking and straddling the line between being happy/tipsy and being that girl, you know, the one you slowly distance yourself from throughout the night. Crystallized ginger sort of wakes me up and allows me to evaluate my lucidity through sober eyes.

TL;DR: Crystallized ginger is the miracle cure to pretty much any ailment. Stash some in your purse and you’ll never live to regret it.
