Intermittent fasting is a dieting method which focuses more on when you eat your meals than what you’re actually eating. While there are a number of ways to practice IF, 16/8 is one of the most common, in which you fast for 16 hours and consume your total daily calories within an 8 hour window of your choice. This diet has grown in popularity for weight loss over the past several years as it helps to manage hunger and over-consumption with sustainable results. This is Linda Miriam’s experience.

As told by Linda Miriam to Merrell Readman.

I gained a lot of weight during pregnancy and postpartum, so a year and half ago at 8 months postpartum, I began 16/8 fasting. Since then, I've lost a total of 20 lbs with only another 10 lbs to go before I reach my ideal weight. I also switch between 16/8 and OMAD, or One Meal A Day, for some variety. Now on regular days I currently fast 18/6 with Bulletproof coffee, but before that I did months of "clean fasting.”

Since I started intermittent fasting, I’ve noticed less bloating, more regulated periods, and consistent and steady weight loss (although slower than I had hoped.) I still have a little way to go until I reach my postpartum goal weight, but the biggest benefit I found from intermittent fasting was the ability to control a lifetime of cravings.

It feels so empowering to know that I don't need to eat as often as I used to feel I needed to. Blending intermittent fasting with the keto diet has made this aspect even more powerful - I lost almost all cravings for sugar and I love being more in control of my food impulses. This is the biggest reason I would recommend intermittent fasting.

When I first started intermittent fasting, I balked at the health experts who mentioned if you were going to do it, it had to be a lifestyle change you kept for good. But it truly has become a way of life that I value for more reasons than the initial desire to try it for weight loss.
