You want your iPhone battery to start behaving like it belongs inside of one of your most expensive tech devices. What does that actually mean? In this case, it means adding a few effective daily habits to your routine that can boost your battery and make it last a lot longer. Tech Expert Patricio Paucar, co-founder of Navi, suggests three battery-boosting habits iPhone users should adopt immediately.
Screen DisplayThe backlight lighting your screen is a major energy hog, Paucar reminds us and there are two easy fixes. “Navigate to Settings > Display & Brightness,” Paucar says. “Set your screen to ‘Dark.’ Less extreme, make sure ‘Auto Brightness’ is on. Check it in Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size, scroll down to ‘Auto-Brightness.’ Turn it on here. You can manually adjust your brightness by toggling ‘Auto-Brightness’ off. The challenge is remembering to lower the brightness when conditions allow. (I always forget, so I stick to “Auto-Brightness.”)”
Optimized ChargingThis tip isn’t available on iPhones running OS 12 and earlier. But if you are running the latest software, Optimized Battery Charging your phone actually learns from your routine and reduces the time your iPhone spends charged 100%.” That helps your battery maintain 100% capacity longer,” Paucar says. “Go to Settings > Battery > Battery Health > Optimized Battery Charging and make sure it’s toggled on.”
