Adele Showed Off The Results Of Her Weight Loss Transformation In A Surprise Instagram Post

The Oscar-winner first debuted the results of her weight loss transformation back in 2020, with an internet-breaking picture of herself in a black mini dress and black heels on her birthday (above.)

“Good for you! Very proud of your hard work! You give the rest of us hope!” exclaimed one fan in the comments section. “Congratulations it’s a journey and best way is the healthy way,” wrote another, as a third added: “You look absolutely stunning.”

What Has Adele Said About Her Weight Loss?

The "Someone Like You" singer may not have kept fans in the loop when she started her weight loss journey, but she has certainly been open with her fans afterwards, telling them some of the steps she took to achieve her enviable, svelte new frame.

Adele was keen to tell fans that the change didn't happen overnight, and it was something that she did over the course of two years for herself and herself only. "I think one of the reasons people lost the plot was because actually, it was over a two-year period," she told British Vogue in 2021, adding: "People are shocked because I didn't share my 'journey.''"

"They're used to people documenting everything on Instagram, and most people in my position would get a big deal with a diet brand," she continued. "I couldn't give a flying [expletive.] I did it for myself and not anyone else. So why would I ever share it? I don't find it fascinating. It's my body."

How Did Adele Lose 100 Lbs.?

Adele told British Vogue that she didn’t actually follow a fad diet, and gradually lost weight over a two-year period by lifting weights, hiking, and doing cardio at night. She confessed that she started working out "because of my anxiety," adding: "Working out, I would just feel better."

"I realized that when I was working out, I didn't have any anxiety," she continued. "It was never about losing weight. I thought, 'If I can make my body physically strong, and I can feel that and see that, then maybe one day I can make my emotions and my mind physically strong.'"

"I got quite addicted to it," she confessed, before going on to tell the fashion bible some of the exercises she did. "So I do my weights in the morning, then I normally hike or I box in the afternoon, and then I go and do my cardio at night," she said.

She also previously said that exercise helped her with her back problems, which she has been suffering with for "half" of her life. "I've been in pain with my back for, like, half of my life, really. It flares up, normally due to stress or from a stupid bit of posture," she explained to The Face in 2021. "But where I got my tummy strong, down at the bottom, which I never had before, my back don't play up as much. It means I can do more, I can run around with my kid a little bit more."

Talking about the Sirt Diet and intermittent fasting, Adele told British Vogue: "Ain't done that. No intermittent fasting. Nothing. If anything, I eat more than I used to because I work out so hard."

Although the "Hello" singer claimed that she didn’t follow any fad diets, we assume she does eat somewhat healthily too based on what she once said about allowing herself cheat meals at least once a week. She's definitely a girl after our own hearts with her choice of cheat meal, as she once said: "My ideal meal, my death row meal, my last meal, would be a McChicken Nugget with a Big Mac and then fries." She added: "That's my three-course. I eat it at least once a week."
