George Clooney attended the Jay Kelly premiere, which took place during the 63rd annual New York Film Festival, on Monday, September 29th.
And as well as being joined by co-stars Adam Sandler, Laura Dern, Billy Crudup, and Riley Keough on the red carpet, the 64-year-old actor was also joined by perhaps his biggest supporter: wife Amal Clooney!

The 47-year-old lawyer and human rights activist pulled out all the stops as she accompanied her husband to the premiere of his latest movie. And while we think she looked gorgeous, as always, a few social media users didn't feel it was her best look. More on this, later!
The mom-of-two flaunted her impossibly long, toned legs in a striking burgundy mini dress (emphasis on the mini!) from Oscar de la Renta's Fall 2025 Ready-to-Wear collection. The dress featured a strapless velvet bodice in a chic burgundy color – the hue of the season! – with a playful skirt comprised of burgundy floral appliqués accented with pops of yellow. Such a work of art!
Mrs. Clooney accessorized with gold pointed-toe heels and gold drop earrings to bring out the yellow in the dress, and styled her enviably long, light brown locks in a sleek, center-parted down do. She may even have taken hair inspo from the Princess of Wales, as she sported lighter, highlighted strands.
Glowing Fan Comments
Many fans were quite understandably obsessed with the style maven's red carpet look! "Amal is just so gorgeous," gushed one fan on a Just Jared Instagram post, followed by two heart eyes emojis. "Amal and George never not delivering. Gorgeous couple," praised a second, as a third dropped three hand clapping emojis.
"Stunning in beauty and intellect," raved a fourth fan, this time on a Hello! Instagram post, followed by the red heart and hand praising emojis. "She looks amazing," a fifth chimed in, while a sixth said: "Beautiful woman in a beautiful dress."
Negative Fan Reactions
But mixed in with the glowing compliments were more than a handful of negative comments, as some people thought the always-stylish beauty, who seldom puts a sartorial foot wrong, had an off day.
"She always looks so beautiful and so elegant, but I'm not a fan of her in short skirts or dresses," thought one fan. "As much as I love ODLR dresses I'm not crazy about this one. The whole look is heavy. She should have at least pulled the hair back. The color though is stunning and she's a beautiful lady," wrote a second.
"That dress is not for her, she is always so chic," a third chimed in. "It's a no from me. She usually nails it but this was just awful," slammed a fourth, as many others likened her dress to a toilet roll holder! "My mom had a toilet roll holder like that," quipped a fifth, as a sixth echoed: "Yeah she kinda looks like an old-fashioned toilet roll holder, this is the first time I've not like what she is wearing. Amal is always so on point."
