Ana de Armas Wears A See-Through Lace Dress To A Golden Globes Party
Last weekend, some of today's biggest Hollywood stars stepped out for the Golden Globe awards, which set the precedent for the rest of this year's upcoming awards season. The red carpet appearances also set a precedent for upcoming awards season fashion, and it looks like sheer is still very much in.
The Cuban-American actress attended the award ceremony in a stunning black lace gown with a slight leg slit and sparkles covering the black lace design. She wore it on stage and dazzled as she wore it while presenting Best Female Actor in a drama film, and while sharing a pleasant moment with Frankenstein actor Jacob Elordi, which gave some fans and pop culture lovers the impression that there's some flirting going on between the two. However, she switched it up for an after-party.
Ana attended Vas J Morgan's Golden Globes after-party, wearing what looked like a sheer version of the lace gown she wore on the red carpet. The dress was completely see-through, hugging her frame, and she wore some flesh-colored undergarments for modesty. Her dark brown hair was left down and in a voluminous, wavy style, and she paired her risque dress with a black clutch. You can see pictures of her here!
Fans React To Ana's Dress On Social Media
After pictures of the Knives Out star at the after-party in her sheer gown were shared on social media platforms, fans and fashion enthusiasts alike began weighing in on it, many of them having differing opinions. The sheer dress trend has taken over red carpets over the last two years, with dresses seemingly getting more and more scandalous. Many fans aren't as into it anymore, unless it's done right.
Fans shared their mixed opinions on Ana's look on platforms like Reddit, adding commentary on the see-through trend and its future.
"The sheer dresses are rage baiting me now," commented a user. "It's not a stylistic choice anymore. It's been done to death."
"Her hair looks great, and she's beautiful," added another.
One user commented that they "don't like it at all," as another wrote that it "looks so cheap."
"On the plus side, she's already got her nightie on, so she can just jump straight into bed when she gets home!" joked a fan.
Coming from the opposite end of the spectrum, one fan wrote that she "looks gorgeous," and another added, "I cannot wrap my head around what it must be like to be this beautiful."
