Angelina Jolie may be an Oscar-winning actress and the owner of a fashion brand, but she is also a longtime humanitarian and former Special Envoy for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. (FYI, she stepped down from her role as Special Envoy back in 2022 to reportedly allow her to engage more broadly with humanitarian and human rights issues.)

On Friday, January 2nd, the mom-of-six visited the Egyptian side of the Rafah Crossing – a critical access point for humanitarian aid entering Gaza – to witness firsthand the devastating crisis unfolding just beyond the border. Check out some pictures of her visit here and here.

For the visit, the Maleficent actress dressed down in relaxed black trousers and a baggy gray sweater with a plunging front, yet still managed to look effortlessly beautiful. She wore little to no makeup, allowing her natural, enviable beauty to shine through, while her hair was styled in a simple, center-parted down-do.

According to an AFP video, the Without Blood director, 50, was seen speaking with aid workers and being shown around the tightly controlled crossing area. As part of her humanitarian trip to Egypt, she reportedly met with members of the Red Cross and Red Crescent, as well as truck drivers who were transporting humanitarian aid towards Gaza.

A Red Crescent volunteer reportedly told the Maria star that “there are thousands of aid trucks just waiting” at the border crossing, noting that severe delays were preventing vital supplies from reaching civilians.

Per CNN, Jolie said in a statement: “I spoke to humanitarian agencies who are working hard to do their best to overcome the restrictions and challenges of delivering necessary aid into Gaza. I walked through a large warehouse that was full of items that were denied entry, most of them medical.”

Trolls Accused Angelina Jolie Of 'Seeking Attention' By Revealing Her Mastectomy Scars On 'TIME' France Cover

While the Mr. and Mrs. Smith alum is often praised for her humanitarian work, she recently received mixed reactions after posing for TIME France's inaugural cover. She was applauded by many fans for revealing the scars from her 2013 preventive double mastectomy, as well as for candidly opening up about cancer in the accompanying interview.

However, several online trolls went the other way and accused her of "seeking attention" with the cover shoot and "twisting" her health struggles to distract from her ongoing legal battle with ex-husband Brad Pitt, 62, over their Château Miraval winery.

A source close to the Atelier Jolie founder responded to the negative comments and defended her decision to be so candid on the cover and in the interview, saying: "She is proud of what she's done and why she's sharing it. But people are twisting it, linking it to everything else going on in her life."

Another insider echoed this, adding: "These people should be ashamed of themselves. They are opportunists after web clicks, as Angelina's photoshoot clearly has nothing to do with some crackpot theory; she bared all to try and draw some kind of sympathy vote from lawmakers and fans."
