Eggs should be the centerpieces of your breakfast, says Stacy Goldberg, a nutritionist at savorfull. She suggests 2 omega-3 enriched cage free eggs cooked in 1 teaspoon of olive oil. “And yes, you should eat the yolks!” says Goldberg. That’s the part that keeps you feeling full and satisfied – plus it has much needed vitamin D and biotin. The extra omega-3 adds to the anti-inflammatory benefits of eggs, as does the olive oil.

Now round out the eggs with more anti-inflammatory foods. Goldberg likes a cup of mixed berries such as blackberries, blueberries, and raspberries. “They’re high in fiber and low in sugar,” she says. Like eggs berries keep you feeling happily full and their bountiful antioxidants promote the anti-inflammatory process.

Get some greens into the picture with kale or spinach. Their phytochemicals have potential potent effects against fat cells. Add them to your eggs as a scramble or use them as a base for sunny-side up. If you prefer a side salad, squeeze fresh lemon on the greens and add a pinch of sea salt. Store bought dressing is loaded with sugar, calories and additives.

Berries have fiber but you can use more when a flat belly is your main goal. Goldberg votes for one slice of high-fiber, low-carbohydrate, sprouted grain bread topped with 1-2 teaspoons of natural, organic almond butter (it has fiber and protein).
