We are just days away from Apple releasing its latest iPhone model: and this one is raising suspicions and drawing comments all over social media.

The iPhone 16e will be released on February 28. The $600 device ($599 to be fair) will have 128GB and advanced features like an aluminum frame with a glass front and matte-finished back, plus a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display that promises to provide crisp visuals and text. Instead of a Home button, the model will boast Face ID that is integrated into the display.

And that isn’t where the benefits end. Apple is claiming its iPhone 16e will boast six hours longer battery life than the iPhone 11 and up to 12 hours longer than every past generation of iPhone SE.

So, is it worth the higher price tag? Social media is mixed. Here are some of their reactions.

Generally speaking, people reacting on social media weren’t all that impressed with the iPhone 16e’s new features. Reactions included: “what’s the point exactly?” “My 14 pro Max still works like it’s brand new,” and “Lmao Apple really be playing in our faces.”

Others are saying that “128GB is a joke,” “Just get the PRO MAX, it’s the BEST!!!” And “Yall making me sick…that’s enough…soon as I get a new one and new number or letter come out! Sit down!!!!” "I'm still on the 11."

Basically, the majority of commenters aren’t impressed and aren’t willing to spend more money so soon on a new model.

Whether the iPhone 16e is for you or not will depend on what you value as an iPhone customer and whether you’re in the market for a new phone. In addition to its new display, this model will be powered by Apple’s A18 chip and promises a faster and more efficient device. Its new 48-megapixel Fusion camera system will offer optical zoom options of 1x and 2x and will come with a USB-C charging port.

If all of this sounds exciting to you, mark your calendar for February 28. And if you’d rather stick with your old model, thanks very much, you certainly aren’t alone, judging by reactions across social media platforms.
