Apple Martin is the latest “nepo baby” to spark debate as she steps further into the spotlight.

The 21-year-old daughter of Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin has been steadily building her public profile—dabbling in singing, modeling, and making appearances at major beauty events. Now, she can add a major milestone to her résumé: a Vogue photoshoot.

Apple Martin Lands Vogue Photoshoot

Apple appeared in the March 2026 issue of Vogue and took part in the publication’s popular “Beauty Secrets” video series, where she opened up about her makeup routine, struggles with acne, and future ambitions.

For the shoot, she posed in a chic Loewe turtleneck set layered under a leather blazer while seated on a stool, serving understated cool-girl energy. In another image, she wore a pink satin ensemble, reclining on a couch with her head resting softly as she gazed into the camera.

While some praised her polished look and growing confidence in front of the lens, others weren’t as supportive. Critics quickly flooded Vogue’s Instagram comment section, voicing frustration over what they see as another high-profile opportunity handed to a celebrity child.

“No more nepo baby, please; we are done,” one user wrote. “I don’t want to see her in anything. Stop casting nepo babies,” another commented.

“She can’t sing. She can’t act, and she can’t model,” one person added bluntly.

Another questioned the broader industry trend, writing, “Has anyone studied the ratio of Nepo babies to being the new faces on Vogue, that would be eternally grateful? The 90s were great because the faces that were showing up were real, with interesting stories of beautiful diamonds found all over the world.”

Some comments took aim at her previously expressed interest in law. “Being a lawyer requires thinking, so she’ll take the easy road to acting, handed to her on a silver platter,” one critic wrote, referring to Apple once saying she wanted to become a lawyer.

“She doesn’t even know what she wants to do, but hey, she’s in vogue,” another added.

Others offered a more measured perspective: “Yes, there have always been nepo babies, but I think the issue for most people is when they get this much attention when they haven’t done anything yet. Gwyneth wasn’t getting Vogue spreads before she made a movie or even right after. These kids should be keeping it low-key. Establish yourself, prove yourself. If people see your talent first, there won’t be so much backlash.”

Apple Martin Shares Her Future Career Plans

Apple is set to graduate from Vanderbilt University in May with a degree in law, history, and society—but when it comes to her future, she’s still figuring things out. Like many people in their early 20s, her career aspirations have evolved over time.

Last October, she dipped her toe into music and released a music video, though she now seems to be moving in a different direction.

“I don’t want to be a singer. I like musical theater, but getting onstage by yourself to sing is so terrifying. I love dancing, and I love acting. My dream is to act,” she shared.

Although she once seriously considered becoming a lawyer, she admits that ambition may have stemmed from wanting to carve out a path separate from her famous parents. “I was in that rebellious, ‘I don’t want to be like my parents’ phase,” she teold Vogue.

It seems that, in the end, the pull of Hollywood—and perhaps a little influence from Gwyneth—proved stronger than the courtroom.
