Austin Butler is still making headlines for his behavior at Bad Bunny‘s No Me Quiero Ir De Aquí (I Don’t Want to Leave Here) show in Puerto Rico.

The 34-year-old Oscar-nominated Elvis star was captured on video dancing awkwardly at the concert a few weeks ago – and fans are showing no signs of slowing down with their mockery!

Austin Butler Talks About His Viral Dancing Moment

Jimmy Fallon asked Butler about the now-viral moment when he appeared on The Tonight Show… Starring Jimmy Fallon earlier this month, which led to the actor explaining more about the awkward dancing. He hilariously revealed that his dancing, if you want to call it that, was partly due to taking an edible just before the show, and partly because he’s naturally shy and didn’t want to draw attention to himself.

“Somebody gave me an edible right before the show and I thought that was a good idea at the time,” the Eddington actor explained, before confirming that he doesn’t like to be the center of attention. He didn’t hesitate to point out that it was “ironic” considering his job!

“I don’t even like people singing ‘Happy Birthday’ to me,” he confessed. “So suddenly, I’m onstage with Bad Bunny, and the edible is working. It was wild!” he exclaimed. He then explained that during the concert, he was torn between enjoying the moment and wanting to “hide.”

This is why he ended up “swaying” his hips while “crossing” his arms. The Dune: Part Two actor, who impressed fans with his Elvis-like dance moves in the 2022 movie about the “Burning Love” singer, then added: “Because for whatever reason, every time I uncrossed my arms, I felt like I was drawing attention to myself.”

Internet Reactions

“Dancing?” asked one person on an X video of Butler at the concert. “Dancing = moving his arms side to side,” mocked a second, as a third replied: “Mind you the arms didn’t move an inch.” “He must be so boring at parties,” quipped a fourth, as a fifth said: “He looks scared to move.”

The comments continued over on TikTok, where a sixth thought: “He was fighting for his life while vibin.” “Edible had my boy geeked,” joked a seventh, as an eighth added: “Our favorite white guy right now.” A ninth simply dropped three sideways crying laughing emojis.

Butler's dancing was discussed at length on Reddit too, where many people said his dance moves weren't really *that* embarrassing, while others thought the moves were justified considering the edible. Others actually defended him, and also called out the people who filmed him, as well as the people who are judging him. "Man can't even vibe in peace," wrote one Reddit user.

"This is why gen z is obsessed with not being cringe. Sometimes you gotta be [expletive] cringe and have fun and not record everything you do!" exclaimed a second, as a third said: "If this is considered embarrassing this dude has never really partied." "So the embarrassing part is that he's just like all the middle-aged suburban parents I hang around with?" asked a fourth, as a fifth joked: "I think it's just his natural ability to be embarrassing."

"It should be a crime to film people while dancing. Let them have fun!" exclaimed a sixth, as a seventh said: "He's not even dancing he's just standing there." "Is the dancing in the room with us?" asked an eighth, as a ninth said: "Yeah...definitely seems like an edible dance if I've ever seen one." "Oh when the edible kicks in, nice!" concluded a tenth.
