No one saw Donald Trump’s complete demolition of the White House’s East Wing, or his concrete overhaul of Jackie Kennedy’s rose garden coming—except, apparently Barack Obama. Back in 2011, Obama made a joke about what Trump would do should he ever become president, even supplementing his roast with a cartoon depicting what he imagines Trump’s White House, which features a hotel, casino, and golf course. Which shockingly, doesn’t feel too far off. Keep reading for more information.

Barack Obama Predicts Trump's Destruction

At the White House Correspondents' Dinner in 2011, Obama spent a few moments mocking Trump, who had recently started spreading rumors questioning Obama's citizenship. "Say what you will about Mr. Trump, he certainly would bring some changes to the White House," Obama said.

He then flashed an image onto a screen in the room of the White House with a tower behind it featuring the name "Trump" in large capital letters. It boasts a hotel, casino, golf course, even a presidential suite. There's also a nod to Trump's Mar-a-Lago aesthetic, with two women in bikini tops sipping cocktails in the White House fountain, plus a massive sparkling chandelier. Predictably, this left Trump "steaming" with anger.

During his current term, Trump's torn out the Rose Garden lawn and paved over it for a dining area modeled after his Mar-a-Lago resort and has added gold embellishments all over the Oval Office. A Mar-a-Lago club member told People, "Anytime Melania and Donald can make the White House feel more like Mar-a-Lago, they will." And this certainly rings true.

Social Media Reactions

A video clip of Obama's roast has gone viral on social media, with social media users reacting to just how accurate his jokes have become. "I really do believe that this is the night that set it all off," one person joked, adding that Trump likely got his inspiration from Obama's cartoon rendering.

"The pic of the Trump White House was spot on!" another person said.

"This burn was legendary," another added.

"I have always found it funny that Trump can dish out the most heinous insults but if anyone doe sit to him, all hell will break loose..." one user said.

"This is solid gold!" reads one comment.

"I miss having a funny president," a final fan said.
