Unsurprisingly, most American women don't have mannequin measurements. Some of us have long legs, short torsos, big booties, etc., but the clothes we find in store and online don't reflect that. You have to be your own best advocate and now what to look for when shopping or when putting together an outfit from your closet. Short girls, for example, can feel like they're swimming in jeans. You can easily get eaten up in most jeans + shoes combination. You want to wear the clothes, and not have the clothes wear you.

So, which ones are the best for short and petite girls?

Answer: cropped jeans (when the weather permits!) and open-heel shoes such as mules and slides.

Petite bloggers agree that this is the most flattering jean + shoe combo, and that the open ankle and heel creates a break in the jean line that really flatters a short stature. Plus, mules and crop jeans are incredibly on-trend now!
