Céline Dion Says She’s Getting ‘Back In The Swing Of Things’ After Spending A Day On A Golf Course With Her Sons
The 57-year-old vocalist shocked in late 2022 the world when, in an emotional video, she announced that she had begun her battle with a rare neurological disorder, Stiff-Person Syndrome. The diagnosis is especially brutal for active people like her, as it causes progressive stiffness and rigidity in a person’s muscles over time and can induce extremely painful muscle spasms. It also affected her vocal cords, and she has had to retrain herself to sing.
In her 2024 documentary, I Am: Céline Dion, she revealed that the muscle spasms had gotten so strong and awful that they caused her to break several ribs. She even allowed the documentary camera crew to include footage of her struggling through the strong spasms, which broke the hearts of her fans across the world. However, that same year, she made a triumphant comeback at the 2024 Olympics Opening Ceremony in France, where she sang while standing atop the Eiffel Tower.
Since then, she has been trying her best to remain fairly optimistic about her future and encouraging her fans to do the same. She’s also been making an effort to spend more quality time with her three sons, René-Charles, Nelson, and Eddy. On March 19th, she shared on Instagram that she had a “beautiful day” with her boys on a golf course and posted a silly video of her swinging around and dancing with a golf club.
“Getting back into the swing of things!” she wrote in her caption.
