P Diddy Apologizes To Cassie Ventura Ahead Of Sentencing

The rapper read a four-paged letter to Judge Arun Subramanian begging for a shorter prison sentence: "First and foremost, I want to apologize and say how sincerely sorry I am for all of the hurt and pain that I have caused others by my conduct. I take full responsibility and accountability for my past wrongs," he said.

He then went on to apologize to his ex-girlfriend, Cassie Ventura, who was only identified as "Jane" during the trials. "I literally lost my mind. I was dead wrong for putting my hands on the woman that I loved. I'm sorry for that and always will be. My domestic violence will always be a heavy burden that I will have to forever carry," he said to Cassie.

"Your honor, I thought I was providing for Jane concerning her and her child, but after hearing her testimony, I realized that I hurt her. For this I am deeply sorry," he continued.

Later, he asked for a short sentence so he can have "another chance to be a better father, another chance to be a better son, another chance to be a better leader in my community, and another chance to live a better life."

He finished his speech with, "I ask you for mercy today, not only for my sake, but for the sake of my children."

Social Media Reactions

Across social media, users were having none of Diddy's low-effort apology, calling him out for it not only being a few years too late but also superficial, releasing his statement just days before his sentencing. "Yeah right," one person commented. "Only because he got caught not because he's sorry."

"A little late???" wrote another.

"Bullsh*t he denied it completely about ever hurting Cassie until the video was released," another person said. "Only then did he 'take full responsibility'...such bullsh*t."

"Master manipulator this one," another comment reads.

"Is he serious?" one user added.

"Yeah, no, he is sorry for being caught," a final person said. "Such a narcissist."
