Donald Trump and Melania Trump have been hitting the headlines a lot lately – but one thing that has come up repeatedly is the President of the United States’ hands.
The 79-year-old POTUS has garnered attention for his hands on several occasions this year, as they’ve appeared bruised, swollen, and covered with makeup to disguise the aforementioned bruising and discoloration.
During a public speech at the Oval Office on Tuesday, September 2nd, (check it out here) Trump once again sparked concern when one of his hands looked noticeably “flushed” while the other appeared “unusually pale,” to quote Ok! He also sparked the same concern the following day when meeting with President Nawrocki of Poland. The striking contrast didn’t go unnoticed, with social media users quickly weighing in with their thoughts…

Some social media users pointed out that the controversial leader‘s hands, combined with what they described as his breathlessness during an interview with Scott Jennings on The Scott Jennings Show on September 2nd, could be signs of poor health – even though he’s lost weight and reportedly made some positive changes to his diet.
A popular theory circulating online is that the bruising (pictured below during his meeting with President Nawrocki) could come from IV infusions or blood thinners, possibly linked to congestive heart failure. Others speculated it might be a hematoma caused by damaged blood vessels.
Back in July, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated that Trump has chronic venous insufficiency, something described as a “benign and common condition, particularly in individuals over the age of 70.” She reassured the public that he was otherwise in “excellent health.” The White House also previously attributed the hand discoloration to “frequent hand shaking and the use of aspirin.” But it’s safe to say social media wasn’t buying it!

"Looks bad," one person wrote on an X post noting that his right and left hands weren't "the same color" during his September 2nd speech, while a second came to his defense and insisted: "Obsessing over hands makes absolutely no sense. You guys need to chill." Many others thought it was age or health related, with a third writing: "Must be having some health-related issue, he's an old man." A fourth echoed that: "Older people bruise easily. Give it up." A fifth simply shrugged: "He's an old man. It happens."
But not everyone was so dismissive. "He is rotting away right before our eyes!" exclaimed a sixth, while a seventh added: "He doesn't look well." An eighth thought, "He had a small stroke, clearly," as a ninth went further, claiming: "It is possible that Trump suffered a stroke."
Others chalked it up to his golfing hobby, with a tenth suggesting: "Golfing frequently with a glove on perhaps?" An eleventh honed in on the contrast, writing: "His left hand looks normal but something's definitely up with his right. It's off color, yellowish."
Then came the makeup criticism, with a twelfth pointing out: "It's POORLY matched makeup. He's done it before, trying to cover up the bruising." A thirteenth agreed: "He's got all of that makeup on his hand to hide the bruising." "He has a horrible make-up artist," slammed a fourteenth, while a fifteenth mocked: "Pretty soon he'll start showing up with fake hands." A sixteenth bluntly declared: "The right hand looks artificial."
