Many of Donald Trump’s fans and even Donald Trump himself seem to have forgotten about the 22nd Amendment—the one that states presidents may only serve for two terms. In fact, you can even buy a “Trump 2028” hat from the Trump Store. Fortunately, though, Trump has stated that he’s not interested in running for a third term, which prompted many social media users to remind him that he doesn’t actually have a say in the matter. Keep reading for more information.
Donald Trump Is Not Interested In A Third Term
In an interview with NBC News, Trump was asked if he was seriously considering running for a third term, despite it being unconstitutional. "I will say this," Trump answered. "So many people want me to do it. I have never had requests so strong as that. But it's something that, to the best of my knowledge, you're not allowed to do."
"I don't know if that's constitutional that they're not allowing you to do it or anything else," he continued, "but there are many people selling the 2028 hat, but this is not something I'm looking to do. I'm looking to have four great years and turn it over to somebody—ideally a great Republican."

Social Media Reactions
Many users on social media were relieved to hear this, but others were simply exasperated. "Well that's great cause you aren't allowed to do that anyway!" one person wrote in a comment on Instagram.
"It's almost like he legally can't or something..." another posted.
"What's funny and scary is that he thinks there's an option," one person pointed out.
"Right because that would be a crime," a fourth added.
"So the president of the United States doesn't know what's on the constitution?" another asked.
"Wonderful because we also are not interested! a final person wrote.
