Ellen DeGeneres Shows Off Her New Brown Hair While Farming In England
The television personality and her wife made a bold change in November 2024 when they decided to pack up their lives in America and move to England. Ellen's infamous talk show officially came to an end after she was accused of allowing a toxic work environment behind the scenes, and she and her wife reportedly wanted to leave the United States "for good" after President Donald Trump was re-elected last year.
Since making their big move, Ellen and Portia have given fans tiny glimpses into their retired life in the English countryside. While her Instagram account mostly posts old throwback clips from her talk show, the comedian recently surprised her audience with new funny videos of her and her wife learning how to farm and work on their landscape. It turns out that her move to England isn't the only big change in her life!
In two videos, the 67-year-old can be seen sporting dark brown hair.
While she kept her signature pixie haircut, the color is much different from the light blonde hair she had for around three decades.
Her blonde pixie look was so iconic that some hairstylists even called it "The Ellen." Ellen is reportedly a natural brunette, and it seems that now that she's stepped away from being on camera and out of the public eye, she has chosen to let her hair do its thing.
Fans React To Ellen's New Brown Hair And Move To England
In her latest Instagram videos, the Emmy award winner can be seen embracing her darker hair color while getting used to farming life in the U.K. In one, she's riding a massive lawnmower across her property; in the other, she's seen doing landscaping work and checking in on her new chickens.
Fans of the Louisiana native took to the comments section to share how happy they are that she's enjoying her retirement from television and changing up her look.
"Some people have a dream of becoming a farmer," Ellen wrote in one of her Instagram captions. "Clearly, our dream was to become a landscape maintenance crew with a little farming on the side."
"What a beautiful life," commented a fan.
"Brown hair now," added another. "Nice!"
"I didn't recognize [you] without your signature blonde hair," wrote an Instagram user.
"You look amazing, and it seems beautiful."
Other commenters from the U.K. wrote that they were happy to have the television icon living in their country, writing that her move was America's loss but their "gain." She also received some good farming advice, as some of her more farm-acquainted followers encouraged her to ditch her smaller lawn mower and get a proper tractor.
"Hope you're happy there," wrote an American follower. "Miss you!"
