1. Avocados

Avocados are a great source of healthy fats -- an essential part of losing weight. “As you reduce carbs, your body will be prompted to use fat for fuel, resulting in weight loss from this fat-burning metabolism," Colette Heimowitz, a nutritionist at Atkins Nutritionals, tells SheFinds. Avocados are also rich in fiber and monounsaturated fat which keep you full while decreasing your appetite and aiding digestion.

2. Salmon

Fresh salmon is high in an abundance of nutrients like omega-3 fatty acids, vitamin B-12, and selenium; all great for weight loss. "Eating salmon for weight loss is especially effective if it is part of an overall healthy diet. This will include fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and other nutritious foods," Dr. Preeti Malladi of Malladi Bariatrics.

3. Cauliflower

Cauliflower is great for weight loss because it’s nutrient-dense and extremely versatile; you can roast it, puree it, saute it, the list goes on and on. “Cauliflower is rich in antioxidants, it’s packed with Vitamin C and K, and it aids in detoxification and healthy digestion,” says Dr. Luiza Petre tells SheFinds.

4. Quinoa

This superfood is taking over your kitchen for good reasons. It’s loaded with protein and fiber, which boosts your metabolism and helps you burn calories. “Unlike most high-carbohydrate grains, quinoa sustains the appetite without skyrocketing blood glucose levels,” says Jessica Rosen, a holistic health coach and founder of Raw Generation. “It actually lowers blood glucose levels which is significant for healthy weight loss because excess glucose gets stored as fat in the body.”
